India has long been known for its festive decorating.
Now, the country’s new tree, dubbed a “Christmas tree”, is bringing home the holiday cheer for a whole new generation.
The new tree has a wooden base made of coconut shells and the decorations are made from wood from a local tree.
It is being sold for around $300 (approximately £200) and is due to be unveiled on November 24.
The tree is also being used as a backdrop for the upcoming movie of the same name, which stars a girl from Kerala.
The film is a remake of the 1980s Hindi comedy film, ‘Kumma Bhuj’.
The film stars Arjun Kapoor and Vinay Kumar as two men who travel to Kerala to marry a woman from the city.
It also features the voices of Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Bhatt, as well as a young woman who is voiced by Dushyant Chatterjee.
After filming ended, Kapoor starred as the couple, while the movie is expected to be released in 2019.
Last year, Indian singer and actor, Anupam Kher, also sang a song called “Kumra”.
